Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of ScioLinks, including the ScioLinks website, respondent account, survey router, survey opportunities, and payout services (collectively, the "Platform").
The Platform is operated by Gilhaus Research, Welserstraße 3, 87463 Dietmannsried, Germany ("ScioLinks", "we", "us", or "our").
By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms.
1. Purpose of the Platform
ScioLinks provides registered users with access to third-party market research surveys.
ScioLinks does not normally create or operate the surveys offered through the survey router. Surveys are provided by independent market research companies, survey platforms, research buyers, and other third-party partners ("Survey Providers").
ScioLinks acts as an intermediary between respondents and Survey Providers and may receive compensation when users successfully participate in qualifying surveys.
A portion of this revenue may be credited to the user's ScioLinks account in accordance with these Terms.
2. Eligibility
You may create and use a ScioLinks account only if you are at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement.
You must use the Platform only for your own participation.
Each person may maintain only one ScioLinks account unless ScioLinks has expressly authorized otherwise.
You must provide accurate information when requested, including demographic information used to determine survey eligibility.
ScioLinks may restrict participation from certain countries, regions, networks, devices, or jurisdictions.
3. Account Registration
Registration is intentionally kept simple.
To create an account, you generally need to provide:
- your PayPal email address,
- a password,
- and certain demographic information required for survey matching.
Your PayPal email address may also serve as your account identifier and payout destination.
You are responsible for ensuring that the PayPal information associated with your account is accurate and belongs to you.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity performed through your account.
You must notify ScioLinks promptly if you believe that your account has been accessed without authorization.
4. Survey Preferences and Demographic Information
Users may be able to specify preferences such as preferred survey length.
These preferences are used to improve survey matching but do not guarantee that surveys matching those preferences will always be available.
Demographic information may be used to identify surveys for which you may qualify.
You must provide truthful and reasonably accurate demographic information.
Providing false, misleading, inconsistent, or deliberately manipulated profile information may result in surveys being rejected, earnings being reversed, or the account being restricted or terminated.
5. Survey Availability
ScioLinks does not guarantee any minimum number of surveys.
Survey availability depends on factors including research demand, geographic location, demographic characteristics, previous survey participation, quotas, technical compatibility, quality requirements, and decisions made by Survey Providers.
A survey displayed or offered to you does not guarantee that you will qualify for or complete that survey.
Survey Providers may close surveys, change quotas, or reject respondents at any time.
6. Survey Participation
When participating in surveys, you agree to provide genuine, thoughtful, and truthful responses.
You must read and answer questions with reasonable attention.
You must not deliberately provide random answers, contradictory information, fabricated demographic information, or responses intended primarily to bypass survey qualification requirements.
You must not use automated systems, bots, scripts, artificial intelligence systems, macros, remote workers, or other mechanisms to complete surveys on your behalf unless explicitly permitted by ScioLinks and the applicable Survey Provider.
You must not impersonate another person.
You must not participate in the same survey multiple times where multiple participation is prohibited.
You must not attempt to manipulate technical systems used to determine eligibility, location, identity, device characteristics, or survey completion.
7. Prohibited Traffic and Fraud
ScioLinks may use technical and behavioral systems to detect invalid or suspicious activity.
This may include analysis of IP addresses, devices, browser characteristics, response patterns, completion times, survey outcomes, duplicate participation, account relationships, and information provided by Survey Providers.
Activities that may result in account restrictions include, among others, the use of VPNs, proxies, anonymization services, emulators, virtual devices, manipulated browser environments, duplicate accounts, false identities, automated survey completion, or unusual traffic patterns where such activity interferes with legitimate market research or violates Survey Provider requirements.
The mere use of a particular technology does not necessarily constitute fraud. ScioLinks may evaluate the overall circumstances and available quality signals.
8. Earnings
ScioLinks may display an estimated or provisional earning amount for completed survey activity.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, earnings remain provisional until the associated participation has been accepted and financially recognized by the relevant Survey Provider.
The amount credited for a survey may be based on the revenue actually received or expected by ScioLinks for that participation.
Because ScioLinks is not required to use a fixed minimum respondent payment or minimum revenue-per-interview model, compensation may vary between surveys.
Higher-paying surveys may therefore result in higher respondent compensation.
However, ScioLinks does not guarantee that any particular survey, period, or user will earn more than on another platform or service.
9. Provisional Earnings and Reconciliation
Market research transactions may be reviewed after a survey has been completed.
Survey Providers may subsequently reject or reverse individual completes due to quality concerns, duplicate participation, fraud indicators, respondent inconsistencies, project cancellation, technical errors, or other legitimate reconciliation reasons.
If a previously credited survey is rejected or reversed by a Survey Provider, ScioLinks may reverse the corresponding provisional earnings.
Your account balance may therefore consist of different states, including pending, approved, and payable earnings.
ScioLinks will not intentionally withhold valid approved earnings, but payments depend on the underlying survey activity remaining valid.
10. PayPal Payouts
Payments are made through PayPal or another payout method made available by ScioLinks.
You must provide a valid PayPal account or PayPal-compatible email address where required.
ScioLinks is not responsible for delays, account restrictions, currency conversion, fees, identity verification requirements, or other actions imposed by PayPal.
Payout frequency may be automatic and may occur according to the payout schedule displayed on the Platform.
ScioLinks may establish a reasonable minimum payout amount where necessary to cover transaction costs or payment provider requirements.
If a payout fails because your payment information is incorrect, ScioLinks may retain the balance until valid payment information is provided.
11. Taxes
You are responsible for determining whether payments received through ScioLinks must be declared to tax authorities or other government agencies.
ScioLinks does not provide tax advice.
Where required by law, ScioLinks may request additional information or provide information to tax authorities.
12. Quality Monitoring
ScioLinks may maintain internal quality indicators for users.
These indicators may consider factors such as survey acceptance rates, rejected completes, inconsistencies, unusually short completion times, failed quality checks, respondent complaints, duplicate participation, and other relevant research-quality signals.
Recent activity may be given greater weight than older activity.
Quality indicators may affect survey availability, routing priority, account review, payout review, or continued access to the Platform.
13. Account Review and Restrictions
If ScioLinks identifies significant quality deterioration, suspicious activity, unusual account behavior, or information requiring further investigation, the account may be placed under review.
During a review, ScioLinks may temporarily limit survey access, reduce survey availability, delay pending payouts, request additional information, or temporarily suspend the account.
Such measures are intended to protect legitimate respondents, ScioLinks, and Survey Providers from invalid activity.
Where reasonably possible, restrictions will be proportionate to the identified risk.
14. Suspension and Termination
ScioLinks may suspend or terminate an account where there is reasonable evidence of serious or repeated violations of these Terms.
Examples include deliberate fraud, automated survey completion, multiple accounts, manipulated identity or location information, repeated submission of invalid survey data, attempts to exploit the payout system, or intentional interference with the Platform.
ScioLinks may also terminate inactive accounts after an extended period of inactivity, subject to applicable law.
Valid approved earnings existing at termination will normally remain payable.
Earnings associated with fraudulent, invalid, reversed, or prohibited activity may be withheld or cancelled to the extent permitted by law.
15. Survey Provider Decisions
Survey Providers remain responsible for their own surveys, including their questions, qualification criteria, quotas, content, technical systems, and research decisions.
ScioLinks cannot guarantee that a Survey Provider will accept a particular respondent or completion.
Where possible, ScioLinks may investigate disputed survey outcomes, but ScioLinks cannot always override decisions made by independent Survey Providers.
16. Third-Party Content
Surveys may contain content provided entirely by third parties.
ScioLinks does not necessarily review or endorse all statements, products, services, advertisements, questions, or other content appearing within third-party surveys.
If you encounter inappropriate, unlawful, misleading, or harmful survey content, you may report it to ScioLinks.
17. Privacy and Data
The processing of personal information is described separately in our Privacy Policy.
Certain demographic and technical information may need to be transmitted to Survey Providers in order to match users with surveys, prevent fraud, or operate survey routing.
Where possible and appropriate, personal information may be transmitted using pseudonymous identifiers rather than directly identifying information.
Your PayPal email address is not automatically provided to every Survey Provider merely because it is used as your ScioLinks login.
18. Platform Availability
We aim to keep ScioLinks available reliably but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
The Platform may temporarily become unavailable due to maintenance, third-party outages, technical problems, security incidents, survey provider outages, or circumstances outside our control.
ScioLinks may modify, replace, suspend, or discontinue individual features where reasonably necessary.
19. No Employment Relationship
Participation in ScioLinks does not create an employment relationship between you and ScioLinks.
Users independently decide whether and when to participate in available surveys.
Unless applicable law requires otherwise, users are not employees, agents, or representatives of ScioLinks.
ScioLinks does not guarantee minimum working hours, minimum income, or continuous survey availability.
20. No Guaranteed Earnings
Any earnings examples, historical averages, estimates, or comparisons displayed by ScioLinks are informational only.
Actual earnings depend on survey availability, qualification, geography, demographics, survey length, Survey Provider compensation, quality performance, and other factors.
ScioLinks does not guarantee any specific hourly rate, daily income, monthly income, or total earnings.
21. Intellectual Property
The ScioLinks name, software, user interface, website content, logos, graphics, and other proprietary material are owned by ScioLinks or its licensors.
You may use the Platform only for its intended purpose.
You may not copy, reverse engineer, scrape, reproduce, distribute, resell, or commercially exploit the Platform except where permitted by law or expressly authorized by ScioLinks.
22. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ScioLinks is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of the Platform.
ScioLinks is not responsible for losses caused by independent Survey Providers, PayPal, internet service providers, or other third-party services outside ScioLinks's reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by law, including liability that cannot legally be excluded for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, injury to life, body, or health, or mandatory consumer rights.
23. Changes to These Terms
ScioLinks may update these Terms where reasonably necessary, including because of changes to the Platform, Survey Provider requirements, payment systems, security measures, or applicable law.
Material changes will be communicated through the Platform or by other reasonable means.
Where required by law, changes will not take effect without the necessary notice or consent.
Continued use of the Platform after an effective update constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms where legally permitted.
24. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding its conflict-of-law provisions, subject to any mandatory protections available to consumers under the law of their country of residence.
If you are acting as a consumer, nothing in these Terms deprives you of mandatory consumer protections that cannot legally be waived.
The competent courts shall be determined in accordance with applicable law.
